Óscares - As Nomeações

Passavam alguns minutos das 13h30 (em Portugal), quando Jennifer Lawrence (Academy Award Nominee) ladeada pelo presidente da academia revelaram os candidatos aos Óscares 2012. As nossas apostas tiveram um grau de eficácia de 65% sem alternativas e de 70% com alternativas. Em certas categorias o factor surpresa manifestou-se com nomeações ou ausências que pelo menos nós não estávamos à espera. As nomeações de Terrence Malick, a melhor realizador e a de “A árvore da vida” a melhor filme foram para mim as maiores surpresas destas nomeações, que provaram que apesar deste filme ter estreado já lá vão uns meses, não caiu de todo no esquecimento. As ausências mais notadas e até incompreendidas foram as de Tilda  Swinton na categoria de melhor actriz, Leonardo DiCaprio e Michael Fassbender na categoria de melhor actor, David Fincher como melhor realizador e “Milenum 1 – Homens que Odeiam Mulheres” para Melhor Filme. “Extremamente Alto e Incrivelmente Perto” foi uma surpresa muito agradável. Confesso que não estava seguro da nomeação a Melhor Filme devido a críticas menos positivas que havia lido anteriormente. Deste modo, Stephan Daldrea provou mais uma vez a sua eficiência. Recorde-se que este é o quarto filme na carreira do realizador (Bily Elliot, As Horas, O Leitor) que já foi nomeado três vezes ao Óscar de melhor realizador e que com esta é a terceira vez que tem uma obra na corrida a Melhor Filme. Este, parece ser um ano de glória para Brad Pitt que protagoniza dois dos candidatos a melhor filme e também ele se encontra nomeado na categoria de melhor actor. Será este ano que leva o Óscar à muito merecido?

O talento de David Fincher voltou a ser ignorado pela Academia depois de lhe terem negado o Óscar (mais do que merecido) quando realizou o Estranho Caso de Benjamin Button. Feitas as contas Hugo lidera a corrida com um total de 11 nomeações seguido de The Artist com 10, Cavalo de Guerra e Moneyball com 6 e Os Descendentes e a Millenium1 – Homens que Odeiam Mulheres com 5.

Our bets  had an efficiency    rate of 65% without alternatives and 70% with alternatives. In certain categories, the surprise factor was shown with nominatiosn and absences  that, at least, we weren’t expecting. The nominations of Terrence Malick for Best Director and “The Tree of Life” for Best Movie were the biggest surprises, that proved that, although the movie had already premiered for some months ago, it wasn’t forgotten, The absences most noticeable and even uncomprehended were Tilda Swinton in the category of Best Actress, Leonardo Dicaprio and Michael Fassbender in the category of Best Actor, David Fincher as the Best Director and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” for the Best Movie. “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” was a pleasant surprise. I confess that I wasn’t sure about the nomination for Best Movie because of the not so good critics that I have read before. This way, Stephen Daldry proved once again his efficiency. As you know this was the forth movie on his career (Billy Elliot, The Hours, The Reader) that were nominated three times for the Oscar as Best Director and with this film it is the third time that he has a movie in the run for Best Movie. This seems to be a year of glory for Brad Pitt that stars in two candidate movies for Best Film and he his himself nominated for Best Actor. Will this be the year in which he will win the well-deserved Oscar ?

All in all, Hugo leads the race with a total of 11 nominees, next there’s The Artist with 10. War Horse, Moneyball with 6 and The Descendents and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with 5.
